Oh well.

Something awesome.

cooler than.
So I was recently re-watching some of Series 3 (NUWho) and got to Utopia, and noticed, for the fifth or sixth time, the Torchwood musical quote that happens when Jack shows up.

Here, take a listen:

It starts at about 5:15 and continues for a bit.

Murray Gold is one of the best tv composers out there!

I also like his "themes": The Doctor's Theme, Martha's Theme, The Doomsday Theme, Rose's Theme, Madame de Pompadour's Theme, and, of course, Donna's Theme.

If you are a Doctor Who fan, what are your favorite musical themes? Do you also like Murray Gold?

(Does anyone else think of Kingdom Hearts when listening to Madame de Pompadour's theme? They've got similar phrasing and intervals going on, there.)

Is it bad that I sort of want to be Xena, or at least Gabrielle?

I've been watching it on Netflix (hooray for Play Instantly!) and adore it.

Anybody else a Xena fan out there?

So, this lady, Tracy Middendorf, was on the very first (aired) episode of Angel. She was one of the few who died, unfortunately.

But...

She was on Bones tonight! With David Boreanaz! How awesome is that?

Okay, I'm done. :D

The fifth of November
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day, everyone!

Go watch V for Vendetta, if you haven't before. God, I love that movie.

(Why does Google have Sesame Street's birthday rather than Guy Fawkes Day? Even the British version is "Sesame Street.")

Unbelievable.

One of my professors recently stated that introductions and conclusions (within written papers) were fancy additions that weren't necessary in academic papers, but helped to "dress it up".

Yet another reason why I question this teacher's viewpoints.

Some Plinky prompts!

Randomly, I found Plinky, a site that provides writing prompts every day.

I'm going to pull a few and write about them, then go back to doing homework. *sigh*

I'm going to try to post every day in November, as motivated by NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). Today is a recipe!

ZP is a hilarious video review of various video games done by a British guy with a "sweet hat and a chip on his shoulder."

Go see.

(It's funny even if you're not familiar with the games, but it's even more so when you are.)

Anyway, I think Yahtzee (the guy who does the reviews) should totally review Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, even though he hates JRPGs like I hate sticky hands. (Don't ask.)

two things.

1. http://www.justthefood.blogspot.com has an awesome array of delicious and easy vegan recipes. (I'm not vegan, I'm just a recipe whore; I figured if I *had* to add recipes to my collection (and I do), they'd be better for me if they were vegan. Hence the vegan kick.)

2. There are people outside trimming bushes and blowing leaves and stuff, and my apartment is neither sound-proof nor smell-proof. It's that disgusting dirty-motor-oil-and-dirt combination. Yeck.

Oh! And another thing. hulu and thewb.com have posted older episodes of some shows, like Castle, Lie to Me, House, Chuck and Pushing Daisies.

Just thought I'd share.

And now--I go to finish my email to Kiela that *should* have been done two days ago but wasn't. *hopes she forgives me*
