Once Upon a Time: (bite-sized) Reviews

I just marathoned the most recent three episodes of Once Upon a Time, which I enjoy immensely, even if it takes itself too seriously.

(I have recently come to terms with the fact that cerebral shows aren't really my cup of tea, so it doesn't really bother me that I have lowbrow TV taste.)

Anyway, this is is going to be spoilery, so don't click if you don't want to know.

Here. )

Thing(s) that bother me

kiss the cook!
AKA, my mom is a bitch.

Okay, that sounds a bit harsh, but that's what I'm feeling right now, okay?

And there's nothing wrong with feeling that way.

They're just feelings, and there's nothing wrong with them.

(This is paraphrased from something, but I can't for the life of me figure out what. A little help, please?)

Anyway, I try to be cohesive and coherent and consilient and concise. (Oh, who am I kidding? I'm never concise.)

Behind the cut. )

So I guess I'm reviewing the newest ep of Sherlock.

It's going to be (uninentionally) spoilery, I'm sure, so it's behind the cut. )

I thought about having some vodka tonight, but my vision has been...off, lately, so I thought that abstention was the better part of valour.

Anyway.

Just finished watching 2 movies.

Reviews of them here. )

6 Days of Liquor

better than.
A friend bought me a 6-pack of a variety of liquors, including some beer/ale, vodka, cider, etc.

So I'll be reviewing them.

First real liquour ever was a GUINNESS STOUT.

What's it like?

Well, unless you've had a Guinness in the past, I can't really tell you.

It's like a Guinness--yeasty, interesting, sour, etc.

I didn't mind it but didn't love it.

I'm drinking it now with some creamer (recipe called for sweetened condensed milk).

I'd be interested in trying a BLACK & BROWN, which is Guinness with Root Beer/Coke, or a Guinness with Bailey's, or Guinness with coffee ice cream.

As is, I'll finish what I have, but I'm not sure I'd order more.

Until next time!

Trailer review from SH:AGoS x2

I saw it twice at 2 different theatres.

Trailers in common: "Battleship", "John Carter of Mars", "The Dark Knight Rises", "MIB3"

Both "Battleship" and "John Carter of Mars" were different trailers, though.

One theatre had the stupid "Titanic in 3D" trailer, the other (thankfully) did not.

Same theatre had "Rock of Ages", which was an odd fit. It's a rock opera, and sort of...crazy looking.

Same theatre also had "This Means War", so I forgave them because it looks AMAZING. AND HOT AND SLASHY AND AMAZING. (Story: Tom Hardy and Chris Pine are both CIA operatives who are besties fighting over Reese Witherspoon. Cue shenanigans. Also, the slash community basically wants them to forget her and just get together. I can't decide who I want to win, because, you know, nu!Kirk, but then TOM HARDY.)

Other theatre had "The Dictator" (new Sacha Baron Cohen--looks awful) and "Jack the Giant Killer", with Nicholas Hoult (Beast/Hank McCoy from XMFC) and might be okay. Dunno, it's Disney. But it has Ewan, so it might be okay. :)

"Battleship" will either be "Transformers" 2.0 and therefore OK, or horrible. (There are aliens, okay?)

"John Carter of Mars" look surprisngly good, but it's Disney, so I'm not sure. I thought "Prince of Persia" was going to be epic, but it ended up just being okay, so I have a feeling JCoM will end up just being that: okay. (It stars Taylor Kitsch, whom you might know from "The Covenant" or being Remy LeBeau (Gambit) in "Wolverine: Origins".) He looks too young, to me, but whatevs.
(Story: Civil war vet gets mysteriously transported to Mars where he helps win a war (?) and falls in love with an alien (?) princess.)

"The Dark Knight Rises" has a split-second JGL moment, so I was so happy. And it's really hard to understand Bane, so I hope they clean him up in post-pro. Catwoman is apeshit, in the best possible way, and there wasn't really any Bruce/Bats. Which was fine, btw. There was a Batplane, which looks awesome, but who's driving the Tumbler? And the collapse of the Gotham football field was very well done. (There's not really a "story" there, so much as clips of this that and the other thing.)

"MIB3" looks good, and hopefully it will be better than MIB2, which was okay but nowhere near as awesome as MIB. They got a bb!Kay, who is played by Josh Brolin, who has Tommy Lee Jones down to a "T"! (Pun totally intended.) Time jumps, aliens, etc. Yay!

I saw posters but not trailers for "The Hunger Games" and "Underworld: Awakening".

YAY FOR TRAILERS.

I LOVE THEM LIKE WHOA.

A Game of Shadows (review)

Wrong Sherlock icon, but whatevs...

This is not so much a review as a spoiler-laden rant about the movie.

But less ranty.

So don't click unless you've seen the movie; like "The Prestige", knowing the spoiler will (moderately) ruin the movie.

You've been warned! )

I will review A Game of Shadows after I see it for the second time. :)

Here's something I need to get off my chest: Ranty time! something stupid. )
